2025 Best & Fairest Results

The 2025 Fitzroy Stars Best & Fairest took place on the 19th of September, held at Welcome to Thornbury.

A fantastic night celebrating our seven senior teams across Football and Netball.

This caps off an incredible season where five teams made the grand final, including all three football teams. A season that ended a 35-year Premiership drought for our Senior men!

Congratulations to all our award winners, and thank you to all of our players, volunteers, officials, supporters and sponsors who make this all happen.

Kain Proctor took out top honours for men’s football for the first time, his name now alongside his dad, Lionel Proctor, who won the award five times! They become the first father / son combination at our club to win Senior Best & Fairest awards, both winning the award as Senior Captain. No Senior Captain has won our Best & Fairest since Lionel in 2008 through to 2012.

James Ellis becomes our first 3 time Best & Fairest winner in the Reserves, with this year’s win coming 10-seasons after his first win in 2016, whilst also winning in 2022.

Medika Bonney wins her first Best & Fairest in our Women’s Football program. Following her grandfather, Robbie Thorpe, a multiple Senior Best & Fairest winner in the 70’s and 80’s.

Paris Haussegger takes out the highest honours in our netball program for the first time in her first season, whilst Shianne Bamblett, Mayson Trajkovska and Cerrin Karpany were Best & Fairest in their respective teams.
